Reality television connoisseur, sunset fanatic, chaotic evil queer , angry left-winger, 75% RP and “the biggest threat to the world...PERIOD” (he/him).
To be fair, I’m surprised they’re still legal but I also think if you want to use them, go for it. Banning things doesn’t do much. Sunbeds are pretty horrific imo but I don’t have the right to stop someone else using one!
the shift from pornographic to nude is really scary i think. a film can have nudity even in a sexual context and get a 12 rating in this country. it's a sign of insane moral panic and conservatism and that we're saying people under 18 should not even see the nude human body
Deleted that five pillars tweet and went private because I can’t be arsed to argue with TERFs. I still think they’re a bigger threat to me than religious fundamentalists in the UK. Perhaps they’re religious fundamentalists themselves. 🤔
“I fucked your sister. Nice pussy.” Wholesome family fun always at the annual @UJAFederation Walk With Israel in #Toronto. We are supposed to believe these people feel threatened, as they go around yelling such depravities in front of their own children.
The AMOC has reliably transported heat from the equator to the North Atlantic for the past 12,000 years, and sporadically for a lot longer than that. It’s the reason Europe is warmer than its latitude would suggest. Its collapse would be an irreversible ramping up of planetary climate chaos—a paradoxical deep freeze on a warming planet, with New England and especially Europe getting much colder temperatures and higher sea levels (in fact sea levels near me are already elevated from AMOC weakening). Like the date of its collapse, the overall effects are not fully known, but the AMOC has global impacts, regulating weather systems that feed billions. This isn’t just one more thing we’ll have to learn to live with; it would be calamity, a tipping-point-of-no-return that will split human history in two.
I’m not wealthy as an individual but back in the late 20th century, lots of places wouldn’t hire us, landlords wouldn’t rent to us, banks wouldn’t lend to us… economically it was rough but now everywhere wants the pink pound as they say. Maybe I ought to write something about it
This is a really silly take, obviously but I think it shines a light on something. Us gay men, as a group, have gone from being materially quite poor to quite wealthy in a very short space of time and that’s why you see so many gays lurch to the right imo.
As a gay man, Reform is the only party that wants to treat us EQUALLY.
Not as people who need special attention. Not as people who care more about labels than getting on in life.
Equal in every sense of the word. There is a reason that Reform is the most popular party with gay men.
This is grim but Christian fundamentalists have said this to me throughout my life too. I’ve been called a sinner by work colleagues and was told as a teenager that being gay was akin to beastiality. Religious fundamentalism is abominable in all its forms.
The SNP look at Ireland and think that’s something to replicate if/when Scotland becomes independent. If independence means we become another tax haven in the Atlantic Ocean then what is the fucking point? Do we really want a mass exodus of young people like Ireland has?
This is a great illustration as to why I spoilt my ballots. The SNP suck so much man… they’re just Blairites with a saltire. What’s the point in independence if we don’t build something better?
the Scottish Government has given the convenorships of the housing committee to the Tories and Reform, because this is a government for landlords, with their heads firmly in the sand about what is happening under their watch
@acechhh As someone with half a decade of youth and community work experience under my belt, I wish I’d gotten to work with social workers like you, I’m so fucking sorry and thank you so much for treating them as actual people. ❤️🫂
