Gear acquisition syndrome at work, my new Rolleiflex SL35.

Quite an interesting piece of history, a 70s attempt to compete with the Japanese SLRs. As you can probably tell by who still makes cameras, it wasn't a huge commercial success, but it's still a solid camera.

The booking office at Tain in 1987: note the Tylers tablet machines and the water containers. It was a one-man station where the railman did everything. The water was for signal boxes, which had no supply of their own and were sent by train each evening for the next day. This building is now part of the ‘Platform 1864’ restaurant.

and some stones.

On the Canon FTB, with either the Sigma Mini Wide 2 35mm f/2.8 or the nFD 50mm f/1.8, then the usual Gold 200 because it's cheap.

Tynemouth station on the Tyne & Wear Metro.
Probably my favourite Metro Station, although it's close with Metro Station, the band that did Shake It.

These were on a Minolta X-70/XG-M, MD Zoom 35-70 f/3.5, and just the usual Kodak Gold 200.

Not my journey today.
Dunblane blocked, and the empty for my train hasn't left Cadder yet, so I'll go via Edinburgh, seemed sensible at the time.
Of course, second I leave it's reopened.
Then I get to Cupar and the HSTs playing up, although at least we're on the move again now.

Just noticed that P3 at Queen Street, the usual E&G platform, has the door positions marked out.
Can't think of anywhere else in the UK that does this.
Wonder if the regulars notice - the E&Gs generally have quite tight turnarounds here.

On to way back from photographing the old Metro trains in Newcastle.

One of the joys of film being I've no idea if any of the photos were any good yet.

(Also great weather to spend my day chasing the only non air conditioned train on the Metro)
