Gonna start utilizing this again to tweet about local things, such as livetweeting Oxnard’s city council meetings! Figured I’d stop using my personal account to do that 😅
Remember to check me out on IG and FB as well!
To Oxnard’s LGBTQ+ & AAPI communities, I hope you all feel loved & welcomed more than I did there. I hope the brash screams of “chinito”s and “joto”s & brasher harassment doesn’t happen to you like it did me.
May the city not use you for “diversity” & abuse you like they did me.
I miss having energy to actively post on my blog sometimes, but then I remember I’m much happier this way
I wish I was able to feel free & empowered in Oxnard as gay & Filipino, and be able to express myself as such.
But hey, I moved away for a reason. Oh well.
Love you all ❤️
I am so disgusted with comments from people that are relatively progressive and constantly blathering on about racism, now perpetuating a narrative with racist implications that the omicron variant came "from" or "originated in" South Africa. They just found it. Do better.
#SmallBusinessSaturday reminds me of when Seoul Sausage had a shop @ The Collection in Oxnard. A delicious, trendy Korean spot that went under. Deserved so much better. They’d 100% succeed in a more open-minded area, honestly.
#Oxnard, support AAPI Small Business today ❤️
fun Sat morning numbers: ~1 in 5 eligible voters in Oxnard's District 5 (encompassing southeast Oxnard areas like College Estates & Lemonwood) identifies as AAPI; 1 in 10 in all of Oxnard. AAPI are a voting group to watch out for. Don't forget about us :) https://t.co/2ZMloTeMbV
Getting a booster shot is free and easy.
-If you're 18+ and got Pfizer or Moderna, you’re eligible 6 months after your second shot.

After reading 890 pages of public comment and looking over more than 90 community-submitted redistricting proposals, Ventura County’s supervisors have narrowed their choice down to one map.

Something I’ve heard before: “Why do Asians only hang out with other Asians?”
My answer: I was taught (harassed) by non-Asians growing up in Oxnard that I was undesirably different. I ended up w people who were fine w me being Asian… which ended up being (mainly) other Asians.
I’ve grown to hate the word “diversity” because of those who use it to look good but don’t act to support the diverse groups of note
Less talk, more long-term inclusivity. Make a proclamation, but include EVERYONE long-term in conversations. Improve outreach to diverse groups.
Hey @GoldCoastBus I’ve seen the 21 overcrowd taking students from south Oxnard to Ventura College & the 6 is SUPER popular w/ riders & among the most packed GCT buses system from observation.
Riders want to go between the cities! Might as well make a faster way for it to happen.
