The Crusader Chainblade — another one of my motorized swords, complete with sound effects. Like the rest of my chain-weapon lineup, it's app-controlled through AlexGeekApp: you can adjust the volume, flip the rotation direction, and dial in the rotation speed, as well as keep an eye on live telemetry and battery charge. The charge level is also shown on a small display built into the handle. It's powered by 8 AA batteries, and the blade length was designed to match the true scale of an Astartes — because the goal, as always, was something epic and authentic, not just convenient to carry. There's motorized power behind every swing.

The Eagle Chainblade — the legendary sword where it all began. Its Kickstarter got banned twice, but I fought back both times and successfully finished the campaign. It's been taken down from Etsy more than once, yet it's still available to you for now! The blade is 1.3 m long — which in my opinion matches the true scale of an Astartes, who stand around 2.4 m tall. Sure, carrying it around can be a little awkward, but the goal was to create something epic and authentic. The sword is motorized, has sound effects, and is partly app-controlled (volume, rotation direction, rotation speed). You can also flip the rotation direction with a double-click and a pause.

The Infantry Chainblade — a motorized version of the sword. It runs on 8 AA batteries and comes with app support: you can change the blade direction, rotation speed, and volume, plus monitor telemetry and battery charge. The battery level also shows on a small display in the handle. It weighs a little over 2 kg, and the chainblade is 1.1 m long — which in my opinion matches a real infantry sword. There's also a version with a skull on the blade.

The Power Fist is one of my most popular models — fully 3D-printed, which means it scales freely and fits everyone, from kids to the big guys who want to get close to true Astartes size. In the video you can see two fists at 100% and 80% scale. I'm 185 cm, and even for me the 100% version is a bit oversized. As always with my designs, I aimed to keep the proportions and dimensions close to a real Space Marine — you can always scale down from there.
Next up for this model: a Chaos version, plus side add-ons like a bolter and a chainsword, and a twin bolter mounted on top.

One of the coolest things I've made: a fully mechanical, 100% 3D-printed Power Claw with a spinning saw. No motors, no electronics — the saw spins purely from squeezing the claw shut. Closing your fingers drives the whole mechanism. Inside the lower central claw I packed a set of gears that transfer motion to the saw, plus a ratchet that stops it from spinning backwards while letting it coast for a good while on momentum. Even the saw's bearing is fully printed — basically a planetary setup with herringbone gears.

The double-bladed demonic axe has landed 🔥⚔️
To make room for two blades I had to rework the upper fang — it reads more like a pair of horns now, and honestly I'm into it.
This thing is a proper beast: 3.2 kg, so swinging it fast takes some serious effort. Not that I'm worried about it, mind you — there's a 34 mm aluminium tube running straight through the handle. Good luck trying to break that 💪

Testing the dual-blade axe.

There are some issues with the second motor driver on the board. It turns out the control pins are also used by USB JTAG, and during startup one of the motors spins for about one second. That's neither safe nor particularly cool.

I'm trying to solve it in software, but I may end up having to modify the board hardware. That means development will likely take significantly longer than I originally expected.

Finally. I built it.
The Ripper — a weapon from one of my all-time favorite franchises. I've honestly lost count of how many times I replayed Fallout 2…
And this one actually runs: pull the trigger and the chain spins. 12V motorized drive, power switch + trigger, a built-in voltmeter for battery level, 8×AA tucked in the handle. ~60 cm, ~600 g, fully 3D printed.

Second prototype of the Fallout Ripper.

The main concept is now complete. I just need to refine a few technical and cosmetic details and finish the assembly guide.

Overall, the electronics are not particularly complicated, but they still require soldering and some basic assembly skills. That’s why I’d like to hear your opinion: would you be interested in a pre-assembled electronics kit with all connectors already soldered for this project?

The estimated price would be around $40, as I may need to design and manufacture a small connector board specifically for the kit.
