Very good phone conversation today with Slovenia's Minister of Foreign and European Affairs @TKajzer.

I congratulated him on assuming his new position and we discussed ways to further deepen our cooperation and strengthen coordination within the EU, NATO, and regional & multilateral formats.

I am pleased to see our bilateral relations continue to grow, especially in the economic field, with trade exchanges reaching a new record. This is clear proof of a strong partnership with even greater potential ahead. Romania's Chairmanships-in-Office of the CEI and SEECP offer further opportunities to enhance our cooperation in supporting the European path of candidate countries and to strengthen regional cooperation.

A nice surprise to find out that, early in his career, he was a grantee of the Nicolae Titulescu scholarship programme for young diplomats, here in Romania.

The programme remains to this day our flagship investment in young diplomats from across the globe.

Diplomatic hike 2026. After the highest peak and the symbol of 🇸🇮 (Triglav, 2864m) last year, this year we ascended Stol (2236m), the highest peak of the Karawanks mountains. 🇸🇮 is for sure one of the top hiking destinations in Europe

Europe's biggest new gas project just started drilling.

First gas in 2027🧵

Neptun Deep.

160 km offshore Romania in the Black Sea.

100 bcm of recoverable gas across two fields Domino and Pelican South.

Operators: OMV Petrom and Romgaz, 50/50.
Total capex: up to €4 billion.

Construction is now fully underway across 3 workstreams simultaneously:

→ First development well spudded at Pelican South. 10 production wells planned total.

→ 160 km, 30-inch subsea pipeline under construction. Saipem holds a $1.75 bn contract.

→ Neptun Alpha production platform being fabricated in Indonesia. Topsides complete. Sail away planned for 2026.

At plateau, the field will produce 8 bcm/year.

Romania's entire current domestic output is 9.2 bcm/year.

Neptun Deep alone will nearly double the country's gas production and turn it into a net exporter.

With Groningen gone and Russian pipeline supply structurally curtailed, the EU has very few large indigenous gas additions arriving this decade.

Neptun Deep is one of them.

Surplus volumes are expected to flow toward Moldova, Slovakia, Hungary and Germany via existing interconnectors.

Romania is on track to become the largest gas producer in the EU.

Kicking off the #B9Summit in #Bucharest with a coordination meeting together with @SecGenNATO Mark Rutte and Polish President @NawrockiKn.
The B9 format brings added value for the security of the Alliance as a whole and our Summit starting tomorrow aims at making a concrete contribution to the success of the NATO Summit in Ankara, including on meeting the Hague commitments on defence spending and further assistance to Ukraine.
The #EasternFlank countries are already taking more responsibility for European defence and I underlined the strategic importance of the Black Sea for regional and Euro-Atlantic security and the need for more decisive action to counter the assertive behavior of Russia.

Dialogul nostru are loc într-un context internațional dinamic, cu două luni înainte de un moment important pentru noi toți, Summitul NATO de la Ankara. Organizarea reuniunii de astăzi la București, aproape de Ucraina, de Marea Neagră și în proximitatea amenințărilor ruse la adresa teritoriului aliat este cu atât mai semnificativă.
Scopul Summitului nostru este de a coagula o abordare unitară despre viitorul NATO. Pentru fiecare dintre țările noastre există o prioritate pentru propria securitate și există o prioritate pentru consolidarea securității transatlantice. De aceea, motto-ul acestei reuniuni este să oferim mai mult pentru securitatea transatlantică.
Pentru a ne îndeplini aceste obiective este necesar să creștem cheltuielile dedicate apărării, pe care trebuie să le transformăm în capabilități, să sporim contribuția aliaților europeni la NATO și să dezvoltăm împreună o bază industrială militară transatlantică solidă.
Întâlnirea de astăzi ne oferă oportunitatea de a vedea unde suntem în implementarea angajamentelor pe care ni le-am luat la Summitul NATO de la Haga și de a reafirma sprijinul nostru pentru Ucraina și Republica Moldova. De securitatea lor depinde securitatea noastră.

There is nothing like the smell of fresh bread, especially when it’s baked in a traditional wood fired oven. At Pr’ Končovc, a family run farm in the hills of Kranj, Mama Fani is the heart of the kitchen, keeping a centuries old craft alive.

The process is as honest as it gets. No timers, no fancy machinery—just Mama Fani kneading the dough by hand until it has the perfect feel. The loaves are then placed into the intense heat of the stone oven, where the wood fire creates a deep, rustic crust that you simply can’t replicate in a modern kitchen.

When she pulls a loaf from the embers and gives it that signature tap, that hollow sound is the only confirmation she needs. It’s a masterclass in patience and tradition, resulting in bread with a thick, crunchy exterior and a soft, warm soul.
