@Cowden81@TheSkyStrikers@djsteeley Robert Duvall's fictional team Kinlockie lose on penalties to Rangers in the cup final and Scottish actor Brian Cox plays the Rangers manager. A chunk of the film was shot in Crail, Fife which doubles for the town of Kinlockie.
The Art Deco brilliance of the former Beresford Hotel on Sauchiehall Street in Glasgow looking at its best in today's sunshine. Built in 1937, it was designed by William Beresford Inglis, who later went on to manage and own it.

@MenInBlazers This is an unusual football programme: it was produced for the film βA Shot At Gloryβ whilst they took footage from a Kinlockie away cup game in the movie. Think it was at Palmerston Park..home of Queen of tbe South FC

@stmirrenretro@fife_football St Mirren were only relegated on goal difference from the Pars (or average as it might've been in May '71) when they went down with Cowden (last in Div 1 on 17pts). Div2 in 71/2 had good sides. Cowden led league for most of the season but lost vital "run-in" games. #competitive
