Happy Father’s Day.

Thinking about the men who shaped me today. My dad, who I miss everyday, gave me my roots, the lessons, the grit, the love that started it all. And Steve, I can’t thank him enough for being such a strong figure in my life when I needed it most. He didn’t have to step in, but he did, and I’ll always be grateful for the example he’s set.

Here’s to the dads, the father figures, and the men who show up. You matter more than you know.

What happened in Minnesota was an assassination. A Democratic state rep and her husband were murdered in their home. A Democratic state senator and his wife were shot. This was not random. It was political violence.

The shooter dressed like a cop. He had a hit list and a manifesto.

This wasn’t just some “crazy person.” This was a terrorist, driven by hate and years of political lies and network "entertainment".

Let’s stop pretending this is normal. Let’s stop acting like this is just “partisan tension.” That kind of talk is weak, and it’s dangerous.

This is what happens when threats go unchecked. When people spread hate and refuse to call it out. When weak leaders stay quiet because they think it helps them win.

Melissa Hortman gave 20 years of her life to public service. She was killed for it. If that doesn’t scare you or piss you off, it should.

We have two options: stop this now, or accept it and continue to watch the success of the American experiment slip away.
