The goal is simple -- keep kids safe/out of foster care whenever possible, reunify families, & help ensure loving and adoptive homes for kids.

My life's work is working on behalf of children. In 2018 I co-founded Foster Care Advocacy Center, TX's first nonprofit law office bringing together highly-trained child welfare attys with social workers to provide holistic representation for kids in foster care. (1/3)
5 years later, I never would've imagined we'd grow our impact so quickly. We have ten dedicated employees working w/ kids throughout Greater Houston. Just last year, 311 children were positively impacted, and dozens of families were reunified & kids kept out of foster care. (2/3)
With just over a week remaining in the 88th legislative session, we call on the Texas Senate to fund Texas public schools, not voucher schemes. Full statement: https://t.co/AZcOBQWwj5
TEA’s Teacher Vacancy Task Force final report was released back in February. It focused on 3 key areas: Compensation, Training/Support, & Working Conditions. What happened to #txlege focusing on these key areas? Instead bills such as #SB8 are attempting to divert monies from #txed and add additional testing.
#SB8 that aims to divert monies from #txed along with additional testing.
#SB9 creates Teacher Retention Allotment to increase teacher salaries by $2K in districts with 20k+ students, $6K in districts with less than 20k. Only to be provided in the 2023-24 school year.
#HB100 increases student allotment by $90 from $6,160 to $6,250 rather than what is needed.
What can you do? Tell your legislators to protect and support public ed.

It was a great night to support @LEAFGrants at Surf's Up! It was great celebrating & THANKING our teachers for their tireless work for this year. And best of all -- lots of money earned for grants for innovative teacher projects for next year. Remember to vote tomorrow 7a-7p!
Tomorrow is ELECTION DAY! There are more locations available than there were during Early Vote including Lindsey Elementary School. Polls will be open 7AM-7PM -- join me in making your voice heard in this low turnout, but incredibly IMPORTANT election!
@LamarCISD Parent input is important. If you have a child in special education, you should have received a survey. Please complete it and give honest feedback. I've also asked for parent focus groups. It takes a village to make sure we are providing our students with the very best.
Five years ago, @LamarCISD completed a detailed "operational audit" to review our policies to see what the district could do better. This spring, the Board approved refreshing that audit, starting with academics and special education. There's always room for improvement. (1/2)
Today is National Teacher's Day! I'm a former public school teacher and my wife, Amy, is too. Leading a classroom isn't a job, it's a calling. LCISD is blessed with so many incredible teachers. Thank you for all you do for our kids and community.
Today is the LAST DAY of early voting! As a parent of 3 LCISD students, I've worked hard to get our area the relief it needs: 13 of the 17 schools built in the next 4 years will relieve Fulshear/Katy. Vote today & let's keep our focus on getting Purple Track the schools it needs!
Advocating for kids is my life's work. It's why I became a teacher, went to law school to learn to represent kids in the foster care system, and founded a nonprofit to serve kids. On Saturday night, I attended the @cafortbend Gala. An incredible evening for a great organization!
Today and tomorrow are the last two days of early voting! The election will be close--we need your vote. Make your voice heard today! Polls open 7AM to 7PM. 🗳️✅
I'm grateful for the support of so many wonderful community leaders. Join us in keeping our schools safe, lowering our taxes, and keeping the district's priority on Purple Track during a time of fast growth. You can vote TODAY at Fulshear HS Noon until 6pm. <5m to vote!
Amy and I attended the Friends of Morgan Inaugural Gala last night -- “Under The Neon Moon.” It was so well done! I'm so grateful the students & staff at Morgan Elementary have such a vibrant PTO, raising funds to support their teachers and provide opportunities for kids.
Polls are open this Saturday & Sunday! You can vote @ Fulshear HS or Cinco Ranch Branch Library.
Let's keep:
☑️ BUILDING MORE SCHOOLS in Purple Track
☑️ MAKING SCHOOLS SAFER - An officer on every elementary this August
☑️ LOWERING TAXES - we've lowered taxes 10+% in 4 years.
It's been my focus the past 4 years to protect your kids like they are my own. That's why my priority as Board President has been to expand our police dept to place an officer on EVERY campus. I have the experience and record to keep getting the job done. Vote today, 7AM-7PM!
