I created this account to motivate myself to look for new evidence, listen to other clinicians opinions, have conversations with experts and to share what knowledge I have. Not to “build a brand,” but rather to educate myself and maybe educate one or two people along the way
First time at @APTAcsm and it will certainly not be my last! Learning so much information that I can implement and teach immediately back at the UofR. Every PT needs to experience CSM at least once in their career. #APTACSM
My rehabilitation department is looking to expand our educational opportunities for our staff and the local PT community. Anyone have suggestions for speakers who are willing to present virtually on Sports or Orthopedic Physical Therapy topics? #alwaysbelearning
@tomgoom shares some good insights on the recent @BJSM_BMJ pod. Appreciate the activity line example and that is something I incorporate into my patient education skills.
Excited to be going to the 4th Annual Baseball Sports Medicine conference in NYC. Looking forward to learning more about the rehab and management of baseball players!
Ithurburn et al Am J Sports Med 2019. 2 years post ACLR - improved double leg vertical jump symmetry while single leg landing symmetry did not. Must include SL training & ployo symmetry as part of rehab. Must test to know deficit. #ViPerformAMI#ResearchThatWorks
Great new article highlighting the importance of lumbopelvic control and strength in the overhead athlete. Work the whole kinetic chain! https://t.co/fXMgxkCN7r
@Robptatcscs Thank you! The surgeon we work primarily doesn’t want to start ER stretching until 4 weeks post op. Usually sling 4-6 weeks. Little slower then what was in the article. We get these patients within 3-7 days post op but I know some surgeons don’t send for rehab until 4 weeks
Excited to present this Friday at the UofR upper extremity symposium! Lecturing on the rehab following pec major repair. Anyone got any clinical pearls they are willing to share? Using recently published SR in sports health and the 2007 @Robptatcscs as some of my resources!
Watch a presentation today on UE return to sport testing. What tests and measures do you all use for returning an athlete back from a shoulder injury? Isokinetic testing? Based on the athletes sport? I am currently using the G. Davis and K. Wilk article as my guide for now.
Excited to welcome my first physical therapy student on Monday! Looking forward to the experiences and challenges that come along with having a PT student.
Many thanks to @LenMacPT and the Champion team for letting me observe their clinic yesterday! Had a great time bouncing ideas off the guys and seeing the high level of care they provide. @ChampionPTP
Not going to lie, watching the Formula 1 drivers perform cervical isometrics and cervical strengthening exercises on the @netflix documentary about Formula 1 got me fired up! Smart move by them #PTnerd
