i’m not sticking up for the shitty company that lures in a specific target audience to maximize profits of their shady business practices. All I was saying was as that gambling is the risk of something for the gain of another. By the laws definition this credit card and its feature is not gambling as the user loses nothing and technically gains nothing. That is why this company can advertise it this way and will continue to do so. I’m not saying it’s right but it does comply with not being a legalized gambling system.

gambling is the act of trying to make money through risking your own money.

a credit card company advertising a credit card that has unique features to drawn users in does not make it gambling. the credit card company is still operating everything’s exactly how a credit card company operates - they’re just giving a different incentive to try and use their card.

i mean it’s definitely not a random chance. there is some code on the backend that is most likely accumulating how much you’ve spent and gives a “cash back” feature behind the scenes until you accumulate enough money that the card can then use you to zero out the cash back and give you a “free charge”
