Honoured to have accompanied H.E. Deputy President Kithure Kindiki during the opening of the Infra for Africa Forum 2026 at the Julius Nyerere International Convention Centre (JNICC) in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

Hosted alongside the Africa50 General Shareholders Meeting and led by H.E. President Samia Suluhu Hassan, the forum brought together over 1,200 leaders, ministers, investors, and development partners under the theme “A Decade of Impact: From Vision to Delivery.”

A key focus of the discussions was boosting infrastructure and energy security through scaling natural gas, strengthening regional power pools and grid interconnections, and accelerating access to clean cooking solutions across Africa.

The forum reaffirmed our collective commitment to working with development partners to advance infrastructure, drive sustainable development, and translate Africa’s vision into tangible results.

Honored to attend the opening ceremony of the IAEA Regional Meeting on the Development of Approaches to Climate, Land-Use, Energy and Water Systems (CLEWS) in Nairobi, Kenya.

The meeting brought together delegates from 24 African countries to explore integrated approaches to sustainable energy planning, climate resilience, land-use management, and water resource management.

I look forward to deliberations on initiatives that promote sustainable energy development, enhance climate resilience, and foster stronger regional cooperation across Africa.

With immense gratitude and a heart full of joy, I proudly celebrate graduating with a Master’s in Leadership from Pan Africa Christian University.

Today marks the fulfillment of a dream that once felt so distant.

This milestone is a testament to God’s faithfulness, perseverance, and the unwavering support of my family, friends, mentors, and everyone who walked this journey with me. I am deeply grateful.

I joined my colleagues, Principal Secretaries Betsy Njagi and Ephantus Kimotho, for the launch of the Gwa Kiongo Earth Dam Last Mile Irrigation Connectivity Project and the fisheries development programme at Gwa Kiongo Dam.

The fisheries development programme marks the beginning of fish farming at the dam through the distribution of 15,000 quality fish fingerlings, fish feeds, fishing boats, fishing nets, and essential safety gear to support local fisherfolk and enhance aquaculture production.

The Last Mile Irrigation Connectivity Project will establish irrigation infrastructure covering 250 acres, directly benefiting approximately 1,000 households. The project comprises a water reticulation system, two 225m³ masonry storage tanks, and a solar-powered pumping unit that will enable year-round farming, increase agricultural productivity, and strengthen food security.

These integrated interventions reflect the Government’s commitment to unlocking the full potential of our water resources to drive sustainable economic growth, create jobs, strengthen food security, and improve the livelihoods of communities across the country.

Joined the Kajiado Central Constituency Business Community Leaders for a breakfast consultative meeting, where we held productive discussions on practical ways to empower our business community by creating a more conducive and competitive business environment.

Together with Hon. Elijah Memusi Kanchory and other government leaders, we explored strategies to unlock opportunities, enhance business productivity, boost returns, and foster sustainable economic growth for our entrepreneurs and the wider community.

As government, I reaffirmed my commitment to accelerating electricity connectivity and expanding street lighting across our trading centres as key interventions to support businesses and stimulate economic growth.

Reliable electricity and well-lit trading centres will extend business operating hours, enhance security, create more opportunities for traders, attract investment, and contribute to increased economic activity across Kajiado Central Constituency.

Together, we remain committed to building a vibrant business environment that creates jobs, supports enterprise, and improves the livelihoods of our people.

We then proceeded to our second stop at the Kamukunji Recreational Centre, where we inspected the progress of the project, which is now in its final stages of construction and nearing completion.

The development comprises a modern conference centre, a football pitch, a basketball court, and a recreation centre, all designed to serve the diverse needs of the community while nurturing and developing local talent.

Once completed, the project will provide residents with a quality, affordable multi-purpose community centre alongside modern recreational facilities that will promote talent development, sports, social well-being, and an improved quality of life for the people of the area.

As part of our mandate as Principal Secretaries to monitor the implementation of ongoing Government development projects, we today conducted an inspection tour of key projects across Nairobi County to assess their progress and ensure their timely delivery.

Led by @koske_felix , Chief of Staff and Head of the Public Service, our first stop was the City Cotton area, where we inspected the ongoing Trunk Sewer and River Training Project.

We witnessed the extensive works currently underway, which are set to significantly improve sanitation, enhance drainage systems, and strengthen environmental resilience for residents.

Psalm 89: “For ever I will sing the goodness of the Lord.”

Today I joined the Holy Family Irigithathi Catholic Church community for the celebration of Holy Mass as we witnessed the celebration of the Sacraments of Baptism and the Eucharist, while also welcoming new members into the Church.

As a devoted Christian, I was privileged to serve as a spiritual guardian to my nephew, William Wachira, as he received the Sacrament of the Eucharist, marking the beginning of his deeper journey of faith and devotion.

It was a beautiful and spiritual moment, filled with faith, joy, and gratitude as we celebrated together with fellow congregants, welcomed new members into our Church community, and strengthened the growth of our faith family.

May the goodness of the Lord continue to guide, strengthen, and bless us always.

I conducted an inspection tour to assess the final stages of the Garissa Substation transformer uprating project ahead of tomorrow’s energization, where the existing 7.5 MVA transformer is being replaced with a 23 MVA unit.

Garissa Substation has experienced increased demand over the years, and this upgrade will provide additional capacity to meet current and future demand, enhance reliability, and strengthen the power network.

This project marks a significant milestone and will facilitate the energization of Dadaab through the 33 kV feeder, officially connecting the area to the national grid, expanding reliable electricity access, and strengthening power supply infrastructure in the region.

The inspection was attended by Hon. Dekow Mohamed Barrow, Member of Parliament for Garissa Township Constituency.

Today, I held an insightful public engagement forum in Ngando, Dagoretti South Constituency, where we listened to residents’ priorities on project implementation and discussed ways to strengthen service delivery.

Infrastructure development remains a key priority for the people of Dagoretti South. We agreed on the need for a whole-of-government approach to accelerate improvements in road networks, street lighting, water access, affordable housing, and other essential services for the community.

Dagoretti South is a cosmopolitan constituency, and I commended the residents and the people of Kenya for yesterday’s peaceful protests, which were conducted without destruction of property or loss of life. This demonstrated the importance of exercising democratic rights responsibly and maintaining peace.

Together, we remain committed to working with residents and all stakeholders to enhance service delivery and advance development in Ngando Ward.

Held a consultative meeting with the @GDCKenya and a team from CFAO, the EPC contractor for Globeleq, to discuss the progress of the Menengai Geothermal Steam Project being developed under GDC.

We deliberated on strengthening collaboration during this final stretch towards completion, as we look forward to the commissioning of the 35MW geothermal power plant, which will provide critical baseload power, particularly at a time when we are experiencing increased electricity demand.

We further discussed the proposed upcoming Isiolo Solar Project and Meru Wind Project, exploring potential areas of collaboration as we continue efforts to expand our installed power generation capacity.

Held an update meeting with the World Bank team to review the progress of the ongoing KOSAP mini-grid projects in off-grid areas being implemented by Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC) and the Rural Electrification and Renewable Energy Corporation (REREC).

The program aims to provide modern energy access to remote and underserved areas, targeting 300,000 households (approximately 1.5 million people) across 14 counties.

Through continued partnership with the World Bank, we remain committed to supporting Kenya’s goal of achieving universal electricity access by 2030 and advancing the objectives of Vision 2030.

I was pleased to attend the European Chamber of Commerce in Kenya (EuroCham Kenya) Dinner at Sankara Nairobi, bringing together stakeholders committed to strengthening European–Kenyan business relations.

EuroCham Kenya continues to provide a valuable platform for supporting European and Kenyan enterprises, promoting dialogue between the private and public sectors, and creating opportunities for trade and investment following the EU–Kenya Economic Partnership Agreement.

It was a great opportunity to connect, exchange ideas, and celebrate partnerships that contribute to sustainable economic growth noting that Kenya's energy sector is a great beneficiary of longstanding cooperation with the European Union.

Accompanied CS Hon. @OpiyoWandayi in a productive meeting with @KenyaPower_Care and the @RERECMashinani to receive an update on the progress of the Last Mile Connectivity Project.

The forum strengthened discussions on mobilising additional resources, enhancing coordination, and addressing implementation challenges to fast-track and accelerate the rollout of last-mile electrification initiatives.

The Government of Kenya remains committed to achieving the ambitious goal of 100% connectivity by 2030, ensuring that every community benefits from reliable and sustainable access to electricity.

Honored to join the students, parents, staff, and fellow alumni of Chinga Boys High School for a prize-giving ceremony, graced by PS Dr. Raymond Omollo, as we recognized and celebrated the outstanding achievements of these brilliant students.

We also broke ground for the construction of a modern multipurpose hall that will serve as a student dining area, alongside a modern theatre that will strengthen the school’s participation in co-curricular activities such as drama and music festivals.

Additionally, we commissioned an institutional biogas plant installed by the State Department for Energy, a project that will reduce reliance on firewood, lower operational costs, and contribute to environmental conservation.

It is inspiring to witness the students’ achievements being celebrated and to encourage them to keep working hard, aim higher, and continue pursuing excellence in their academic and personal growth.

Today marks a historic step forward for Kenya with its admission to join the Global Offshore Wind Alliance (GOWA), following a major announcement made during the Ocean Conference 2026 in Mombasa.

Through GOWA, Kenya will benefit from global expertise, policy knowledge, investment networks, and technical cooperation to support the assessment and future development of offshore wind resources along our coastline.

This is a huge win for Kenya and a significant milestone for Africa’s ocean-climate agenda, opening new opportunities to unlock the potential of offshore wind as a clean energy solution.

Offshore wind represents a powerful pathway for Africa to advance climate action, strengthen energy security, drive sustainable development, and support a just transition while harnessing the immense potential of our oceans.
