@TheStingisBack I recall a similar true story about a relative of Alfred Hitchcock writing a film school essay on him but having him write it and it getting a failing grade.
I can’t remember the documentary it was in, anyone have a clue? The doc was definitely made after 2010.
@Danimalish “Scope” hasn’t been ~2.35:1 formally since June 1971 (see ANSI PH22.106-1971). From then and forward the value rounded to two decimal places has always been 2.39:1.
I assume you are aware of this matter but I’m writing for the clarity of others reading it.
@florapattinson I may not have an 70mm IMAX place near me but at least one that can run 5-perf 70mm aka Super Panavision 70. Sadly they won’t show this there.
@jbillinson 2/ Just use a resolution of 3088x2160 and you get ~0.0259% of from the nominal 1.43:1.
The screen won’t be gigantic but with the IMAX marketing they should lean into it, I think enough people would buy something like that for a special edition to be released.
I’ve been asking Universal for months without any clear answer or anything resembling confirmation.
If 1.375:1 Academy aperture films can get pillar-boxed why couldn’t 1.43:1 IMAX?
Just use a resolution of 3088x2160 and you get ~0,0259% of from the nominal 1.43:1.
