The Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Mohamed Lamin Tarawalley has initiated the process for the removal of the suspended Auditor General Lara Taylor-Pearce as directed by @PresidentBio.

The Clerk of Parliament, Hon. Paran Tarawally has confirmed that he has received the Tribunal Report on the suspended Auditor General from the Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Mohamed Lamin Tarawalley.

He couldn't give a timeline for when the report will be debated and voted on but said the document awaits Parliamentary action.

It is anticipated that the Report will be laid in Parliament on Friday, 30th August 2024 when Members of Parliament return from their recess.

Lara Taylor-Pearce and Tamba Momoh were suspended in 2021 and investigated by a Tribunal on allegations of professional misconduct following the auditing of alleged fake receipts in The Office of the President.

However, both of them have denied any wrongdoing and said they have still not received the report that recommends their removal.

Despite several calls from some Civil Society Organizations including the Sierra Leone Association of Journalists (SLAJ), the Tribunal Report has still not been made public by the government.
