I thought his comments about Ecuador recently were also very misinformed. There have been so many homicides happening directly due to these drug cartels for years.

@CrisisGroup How many homicides a week in small towns means oasis of calm? People are afraid to go out because these keep happening all over Ecuador for years now. They need support.
