@JBRylah@vbpunk4life Absolutely! I think it’s sometimes hard for audiences to realize that as filmmakers we’re not always trying to paint perfect pictures of heroes. We can often completely agree with the audience that our lead character’s are making a stupid or fatally flawed decision.
@JBRylah@vbpunk4life That’s often the point. It’s easy to see all the mistakes people are making from a birds eye perspective but in reality...people do stupid $#!t all the time! :) The challenge for us is often just HOW stupid can the thing they’re doing be without losing the support of the viewer

@JBRylah@vbpunk4life I think your observations were excellent & true & one of my biggest fears when making the scene. I didn’t want to turn off audiences to the character by having him just start making out with this clearly non human lady who just emerged from a stream while his daughter is trapped

@JBRylah@vbpunk4life about the potential that something inappropriate could be developing. For the record, nothing inappropriate is developing...but the threat alone is all that needs to be there to make Michael act more obsessive and controlling over a situation he has never had control of
