Between 9:36 PM and 9:43 PM on July 29, 2026, I had $1.6 million stolen

All because one line of code, written in 2021, in the device that generated my password, had a vulnerability.

We picture a heist as a guy in a ski mask with a pistol. That's not how heists work anymore. They're invisible now.

Over 10 million people read my posts about the hack. It was the front page of most national newspapers.

The reason millions of people read my post is because it touches on something much bigger than the hack

This is a much bigger story than a guy losing his kid's savings or a single heist.

This is a story that affects us all.

We have been forced to trust code we've never seen, written by people we'll never meet.

All of us are trusting technology we'll never fully understand with the things we cannot afford to lose.
