@Bell_Support Glad to hear that service has been restored for these customers.
But @Bell and @Bell_Support, when did you decide to stop offering internet service in postal L5C Mississauga?
Day 5 of the internet outage is beginning to feel intentional.
A great book stays with you. Years later, the characters, the trials and tribulations remain engraved on one's conscience. Bless the authors who create these great works. #WritingCommunity
@PublicShawnelle Because, any end of life in a civilized society takes place in a legal context. No person in society is an island.
If one started from the premise that life had no intrinsic value, imagine the violence that would ensue.
@PublicShawnelle No one would doubt there are evil people in the world. But to me, the question is to what extent society should condone a person taking one's own life. I feel that life has intrinsic value and that sound public policy dictates that legally sanctioned suicide be a rare event.
@PublicShawnelle I wouldn't characterize it that way. End of life is in irreversible decision. But, there are circumstances to justify it. Suicide generally is a tragedy. Its implications transcend the individual. To save a life is to save a world. The opposite is also true.
@PublicShawnelle And, I don't see how one could posit an amoral position on this issue. The sanctity of life is one of the pillars of civilized society. It is veritably a precondition to a social contract.
@PublicShawnelle No, I would be unable to support it in that instance, on policy grounds. I feel that a person's decision to end their own life should be a rare exception to the policy of supporting decisions consistent with life.
