A lorry arrived on our street... WITH PROOFS OF WATERBLACK.
Yes! The masterpiece has arrived (and not just the final instalment of the Mordew trilogy, the best book in the series - but honestly, one of the best fantasy books I've ever read).
Anyway. The publicity engines are revving ... and which fantasy reviewers should we be thinking of?
(Also, James Nunn's covers for the three books of the series have surpassed anything we could have ever dreamed of. They are beautiful works of art in themselves. What a legend.)
Mark will also be northwards and in Newcastle on Thursday for another (FREE!) event - this time talking to Lars Iyer. (That' some double act.)

We'll be spending a sizeable amount of this week marking up this beautiful beast for typesetting (211,536 words of pure magic) - and, right this second, laughing out loud at @AlexPheby's illustration of the importance of marginal characters, in both fiction and life:
"Think of a friend of friend whom you have met and who will eventually become your spouse, though you do not know it yet. Think of a person from your childhood to whom you were thoughtlessly cruel, and whom you have forgotten, but who has not forgotten you or your cruelty, and who then appears, late one night, at the back door to your house, carrying a concealed weapon."
@GalleyBeggars @Ninonette Coming late to this - busy week at work. I actually hate and fear all worms/maggots/helminths, etc. One must have got into my cot or something when I was a baby. I'm getting stressed out just thinking about them.
"Brilliant, witty... Kiss-Deáki has written a hugely enjoyable book with exceptional moral clarity that is humorous and yet profound, enabled by her unambiguous prose and focus on the failure of those around Mary to see her as a human being."
A wonderful early review: get ready!
Filled with insights, provocation, & humor, On the Couch (edited by @AndrewBlauner) offers an original & nuanced portrait of #Freud as a complex figure who, for all his flaws, forever changed how we see ourselves and the world.
