On what would have been his 90th birthday, I’m remembering my friend with gratitude for his courage, his love of our common humanity, and the work we did together to bring the Czech Republic into NATO and build a Europe no longer divided.

We also shared a love of music. So today, I’m playing a few notes in his honor. Happy birthday, my friend. The world could use more of your spirit.

ELECTION 2026: Former Vice President @KamalaHarris is in Sacramento today. She made an appearance at a phone banking event for 6th Congressional District candidate @DrPanMD (D-Sacramento).

During her remarks, Harris criticized Pan’s opponent, Rep. @KevinKileyCA (I-Rocklin). Harris said she does not believe Kiley, who changed his registration from Republican to independent earlier this year, is a true independent. I will have reaction from Kiley.

Harris added she believes the race between Pan and Kiley is very close.

She also criticized President Donald Trump.

That’s the number that stopped me cold.

Florida investigators say Autumn Bardisa worked inside AdventHealth Palm Coast Parkway while using the nursing license number of another woman named Autumn.

She had attended nursing school-but had not passed the licensing exam.

And somehow, the truth didn’t come crashing down during a shift.

It surfaced when she was being considered for a promotion.

A routine credential check reportedly revealed she had no active nursing license, and the hospital terminated her shortly afterward.

Then investigators started counting.

Authorities say Bardisa provided medical services to 4,486 patients between June 2024 and January 2025 while improperly working under another nurse’s credentials.

After a months-long investigation, she was arrested on 14 felony counts involving unlicensed healthcare practice and fraudulent use of identification.

And here’s the part that surprised me even more:

In April 2026, Bardisa pleaded no contest. She received five years of probation, 50 hours of community service, was ordered to write an apology to the nurse whose information she used, and gave up the nursing license she later obtained.
