A terrific paper on reaching real time payments system--with some much needed advice for the Fed on FedNow--by my students @kabirm10s & @loganmherman. One of the great joys of teaching at HKS is the amazing policy work our students are engaged in.

This afternoon, I attended our Senior Prom for couples who are celebrating over 25 years of marital bliss in our borough.
Congratulations to these incredible couples whose love serves as inspiration for us all. We are wishing them many more years of happiness and fulfillment.
I partnered with Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and Fordham University to secure a $50 million environmental justice grant for a Bronx-based institution—the largest of its kind in history.
I partnered with Fordham University, based in my Congressional District in the Bronx, to secure 50 million dollars for Environmental Justice grants, which will be distributed to grassroots organizations.
My office persuaded Fordham University to apply for the grant, and we won!
BRONX
TRANSPORTATION
Senator Chuck Schumer and I secured $150 million dollars for the rehabilitation of the Cross Bronx Expressway.
The $150 million dollar investment is a down payment toward ultimately capping the Cross Bronx in the hopes of combating both catastrophic climate change and air pollution—a central cause of the asthma epidemic in the Bronx.
LEGISLATION
MENTAL HEALTH
In partnership with Congressman Michael Burgess, I co-led a bipartisan bill, known as the SUPPORT Act, that would expand the availability of in-patient mental health care for substance use disorders.
The House passed the bill by an overwhelming bipartisan vote of 386-37.
NYC's ambitious, first-in-the-nation congestion pricing plan invests $155 million in low income communities of color like the Bronx.
It's a historic opportunity to improve public health, fight climate change, and strengthen and sustain the @MTA - the lifeblood of our great city.
Healthcare accounts for nearly 10% of US emissions.
On Friday I moderated a round table discussion with @RepRitchie and @HHSGov on how community health centers and safety net hospitals can use the Inflation Reduction Act to decrease greenhouse gas emissions in the Bronx.
Yesterday, my office partnered with @HHSGov Office of Climate Change and Health Equity for a roundtable discussion about the pressing need to reduce greenhouse gases emitted from healthcare facilities and hospitals — a major employer in the Bronx. Thanks @FordhamNYC for hosting!
The smog and smell of NYC has transported me back to China and India.
Beijing’s air has improved since I left in 2017. Cities across India continue to experience hazardous AQI levels.
It is important to see urban air quality in the context of global public health.
Appalled that the National Tennis Center/US Open has no courts this week because they are being used for pickle ball.
The mission of @usta@USTAEastern is to promote and grow tennis locally and nationally.
