This article describes the abject misery average Americans experience every day trying to navigate our insanely complicated healthcare system.
Why is it so complicated? Because it doesn’t function for people - not for patients and not even for doctors. It functions for insurance companies, Big Pharma etc.. It is a healthcare model that does more to exploit than to heal the sick, an immoral expression of predatory greed on the part of a health care industrial complex.
Our system creates fear and anxiety for people already suffering, as multi-billion dollar corporate health care overlords act like cancers on the fabric of our society. In every other advanced democracy people have universal healthcare.
