@louisevanswrite@DrWoodcockFDA I'm sorry to hear that, there needs to be more regulation in the kratom industry to protect consumers from adulterated and unsafe kratom and supplements. I am very sorry for your loss. That being said, kratom has helped me immensely and has helped my quality of life.
@DrWoodcockFDA Dr Woodcock, with all due respect Kratom has been helpful in my life. There is so much research showing that it is not a danger. You should be supporting the Kratom Consumer Protection Act
@HaddowMac Not a good argument Mr Haddow. I have a family member that recently died from COVID-19 and family working in hospitals who are experiencing the true threat of this Virus. Please don't associate the fictitious kratom deaths with very real COVID deaths. This will hurt the cause
The Ohio Board of Pharmacy is holding its Public Hearing on banning kratom at 10 am on Friday morning in Columbus Ohio. Then, on Monday (one business day later) they are going to ram the ban through the Ohio Legislature Joint Committee on Agency Rule Review. #unfair to kratom.
It is pretty clear at this point that the Public Hearing being held by the Board of Pharmacy is a complete SHAM. Ohio state law requires the Board accept public comments, but I guess the Board of Pharmacy does not think listening to citizens should make a difference on their ban.
The Ohio Board of Pharmacy Public Hearing on Friday at 10 am is a critically important event for keeping kratom legal in Ohio. The FDA is doing everything it can to stop our momentum with the Kratom Consumer Protection Act nationally. Stop the Ban -- Kratom Saves Lives!
@HaddowMac Is the decision by the Joint Committee on Monday the final say in kratom legality in Ohio? If so, and the the worst happens on Monday are there any legal avenues that can be pursued since the BOP didn't follow procedure and submitted their decision before public testimony?
New published research in the Journal of Psychoactive Drugs analyzing the Long-Term Cognitive Effects of Kratom concluded that "higher intake of kratom juice (>3 glasses daily) did not appear to impair motor, memory, attention, or executive function of regular kratom users."
@FDACommissioner I hope that you will one day meet with kratom consumers and industry to come up with guidelines to allow kratom to continue to be available and be sold safely.
@FDACommissioner Kratom has helped to improve my quality of life. There are 13 mill kratom consumers in the US. It feels as if there is an agenda by the FDA to misrepresent kratom. There are safety concerns with too much sugar, caffeine, and over the counter medications.
Every rational human being should be disturbed by the level of either incompetence or secrecy (or both) practiced by government agencies involved in #kratom "toxicology" issues.
I quote toxicology because none of these people appear to know how causality is determined.
This study makes me even more skeptical about claims that kratom killed Sturgis. Even if tox report shows what coroner says it does, these tests are often inaccurate. In CO, every reported “kratom-only” death showed presence of other drugs when checked. https://t.co/LZp9JVgePq
