I must say though the devs were incredibly nice and Holly was awesome to my fiance and her team. I just hope they listen to reason while also making the smart business moves they need for their shareholders
I was probably within the first 20 people to play classic Forever in the general public and stood front row in line while Classic + was being announced chatting with the devs (we knew the announcement was coming) and I knew they would demo it.
My input to Blizzard staff directly at Blizzcon was that they needed to pick which group they are gonna cater to for Classic+ (Holly called Forever that word for word) the classic players that they are trying to capture again or the people they already have on retail. One or the other.
My direct input into their system was that it seemed designed flawed to eventually become retail a few years down the road. Although it was a beta version of the game I told them directly that the hype would die within 2 years if they charted this direction
Another take away after talking to the Classic + team was I think they are all excited but a little frustrated with how corporate it is and they kinda gave me the impression without saying it that Blizzard just wants money (Duh) and that it’s gonna be just OKAY after awhile.
Forever plays great it’s just the small UI and accessibility problems that will eventually burst like a Dam. It’s fine now but as people ask for more and more eventually it’ll just be retail 2.0 which is the direction I believe they want to avoid. It’s a fine line.
Warcraft Forever is turning into the state people migrate to after voting to destroy their own and then try voting for the exact same policies again in the new state.
classic players have been asking, basically BEGGING for classic+ for more than 7 years, how is this game not for them?
what if classic players randomly got to voice their opinion on how the new retail expansion gets changed? especially if they'd be stuck in a TWW > MN exp loop
THIS IS AN ALERT TO THE BLIZZARD FOREVER DEVS!
I see so many terrible WoW forever suggestions on how to change the game to be more like retail. For the love of god DO NOT ADD ANY MORE FEATURES TO THE GAME!!
With every feature you add you slowly kill the spirit for Classic and just by adding 1-2 extrra features the game WILL LITERALLY DIE within a year. Never ever listen to a single retail player. it will be the end of this game and it's popularity. They have absolutely no understanding of what an mmorpg originally was and why 95% of all mmorpgs fail these days. It's the FEATURES.
Just add content! It's so extremely simple
Add Raids, zones, dungeons and quests (that's it) nothing else. EVER AND FOREVER.
It's completely unsustainable. People that use the old models will expect new gear to not look modern so it doesn't clash on their characters, people that use the new models will think low res gear looks horrible on their high res models.
Classic forever has a battle pass like system and a shop. Not sure how it will work but Blizzard greyed it out for the demo but the UI was in there. Not sure if this is final or not.
@KuralBurak It’s more like it plays like classic with lots of retail UI changes and progression. That was my impression after getting to play 45 minutes
