I almost lost my religion on public transportation tonight.

A teenage girl with a cane got on the bus during rush hour. You could tell immediately she was struggling just to stay balanced while the driver pulled away from the curb.

The driver asked loudly if anyone could give up a seat for her. Silence.

Meanwhile an entire family was spread across multiple seats pretending they suddenly couldn’t hear a thing. Eyes glued to phones. Looking out windows. Suddenly fascinated by the ceiling.

So I stood up and told the girl to take my seat.

And apparently that offended one particular woman in the family because she immediately got defensive and started loudly explaining that her children were “tired” and “didn’t hear the driver.”

Ma’am please. Your kids heard you open a bag of…..
