📍Hollywood

"We would just go in the front door of every one with a tape and say, 'Hi, we just got here from Florida, can we play you this tape?'" - Tom Petty on his first trip to L.A., going door-to-door on Sunset Boulevard looking for a record deal

Just a few months later in September 1974, as newly arrived L.A. residents and Shelter Records signees, @Mudcrutch opened for Dick Dale at @TheWhiskyAGoGo and saw their name on the marquee over Sunset.
