In a few years AI art will be so good no one will be able to tell any difference. Creating the flow of people using AI to then commission real artist is the best path forth. But real artists are so insufferable it will just be AI art everyone will use by that point.
Everyone use machine made clothes and not hand sown, and like with tailors today, making a living as an artist will only be for a small minority of them with skills enough that people will pay a lot for it. All low to mid, and even some higher tier artists will disappear from the market and wont be able to make a living. And it wont be because of AI, it will be because you failed to realize what future we are heading towards, so you shot yourself in the foot with your insufferable grandstanding and pushed people towards just using AI instead.
