Orthodox becomes Havana Grey's 2nd G1 winner (@WhitsburyManor), with victory in the Middle Park Stakes (G1). ⚪️🟣

His success follows on from his paternal sibling Vandeek, who won @NewmarketRace's 6f G1 in 2023 and is now @CPStudOfficial sire.

"This horse pleases me in the morning and in the afternoon!" said trainer Clive Cox, who was winning his 3rd Middle Park.

Cox's 1st Middle Park winner was Reckless Abandon (2012), and his 2nd came with Supremacy (2020), who was owned by James Goddard and is also today's winning owner.

Orthodox was bred by Whitsbury Manor and is out of Heartwarming (Showcasing). She, most of her siblings and her dam Place In My Heart (Compton Place) were all trained by Cox

"I have had a lot of the family, I know them well," he added and of this colt: "He's pretty special, he has been right from the beginning.

"Looking forward, he has so much potential, he's not just a two-year-old. The @BreedersCup has been talked about, but we'll see how he is."

An updated pedigree for Orthodox who landed today’s Group 1 Tattersalls Middle Park Stakes @NewmarketRace under @Rossaryan15 .

The son of Havana Grey was bred by @WhitsburyManor and purchased by Clive Cox from Grangeclare Stud (@JoeyE_Logan) @Goffs1866 Orby.

His dam Heartwarming was twice Listed placed - and is a full-sister to Group-placed Unbreak My Heart and a half-sister to Group 2 Queen Mary Stakes winner Heartache (pic).
