Is Coca-Cola’s ‘Black Swan’ event in sight? $20 billion of potential tax due, and an appeals court decision by the end of the year could be a suprise to most investors. https://t.co/EO7RsgqJk1
After reading Coca-Cola's latest transfer pricing tax appeals filing, we should remember the investors when considering risks of this magnitude. #TP#transferpricing#CocaCola https://t.co/otRMYPtdyj
The Tax Court recently released its decision for $KO 's billion dollar-plus transfer pricing case. I have observations in the Financial Times on why Coke could owe much more. #taxtwitter#IRS
How a $16bn tax stand-off stays unseen in Coca-Cola’s earnings (https://t.co/jfm0ZDTyxf)
John Murphy, Coke’s CFO, told the Financial Times “We have outside counsel who have, each quarter, continued to evaluate the case on the facts that are available to them and they continue to offer an opinion that gives us a greater-than-not chance of prevailing,”

I agree that the Republican Congress is a significant hurdle for US participation in the OECD's Pillar 1/Pillar 2 program for a global minimum tax. They even called out Janet Yellen for giving away too much in negotiations. https://t.co/LDjuunhss2
#TaxTwitter Did anyone else receive a 1099-Misc from Amazon stating that they received royalty income during the year? Big surprise to me! Took me a while, but I did find an Amazon taxsite where you can report identity theft to their tax department. https://t.co/ltU7v7hDA5
Reasonable position from @NatlParkService However, this rule does not prevent you from putting on runners to outrace your friends during a bear encounter
In $KO 2022 annual report, Coke estimates the transfer pricing tax bill would be $14 billion if the IRS "continues to prevail". No significant change in tax accrual, estimating a final settlement of $423m. No mention of tax court's 2021 response that Coke's position is "futile"
IRS continues to win in tax court (3M Royalty Case), but apparently $KO Coca-Cola's tax provision does not change from the ~$400m estimate for 2021. In the last annual report, Coke said if the IRS ultimately prevails, the company would owe ~$13 billion in tax for transfer pricing
