Worth a read. “To elevate one set of spiritual beliefs above another and do it by force of law removes a nonnegotiable tenet of evangelical faith—free will.” via @lgbtqnation https://t.co/8regMZCisS
1. According to a heartbreaking study just published in Nature, anti-transgender laws, including healthcare bans, have increased suicide attempts by up to 72% in states passing such legislation.

TX Attorney General Ken Paxton is suing the federal government over decades-old privacy regulations that he says are blocking him from accessing medical records of Texan women and transgender people who've accessed abortion or gender-affirming care.
The ideal work-from-bed setup (for certain kinds of work):
• Breakfast tray
• Tablet (iPad Pro from 2017—still kicking!)
• Wireless mouse + keyboard (latex-free keyboard built with care by my awesome ex-housemate)
• Hidden kitten (heating pad + sentient reminder system)
@choochoobear Surprisingly so, yeah. White-knuckling it a bit here and there, but people have been very kind and helpful. Now that I’m far enough out from surgery etc. to work it’s mostly a matter of riding out the adjustment weeks while I get it all going again. I’m ready to be back. You?

With any close loved one, there will be times when you must let go of the future versions of them you imagined, the lives they didn’t end up living, the expectation that they would—or wouldn’t!—change. This isn’t some new thing that only trans people make our loved ones confront.
Ask yourself what it would take for you to uproot your entire life, split your family apart, and find a new home and a new job in an entirely new place thousands of miles away. Would you do it for anything that was short of essential for your child's well-being?
Cats can’t be registered service animals in the US, so I can’t get her that intensive training and make it official, but my self-taught senior diva has learned how to do what she can where she can, and I’m incredibly fortunate to have her.
She’d already learned to spot when I’m getting vertigo and confusion from a bad migraine. Follows me around and yells at me—tiny cat, big voice—until I’m safely horizontal or at least sitting down. (What she lacks in size, she makes up for in volume.)
Oh my God, the appointment with the replacement OB just fell through, if anyone has a recommendation for an OBGYN in central LA/Hollywood, please let me know
