With the Olympics on the way, the last thing LA needs is a mayoral candidate who wants to upend city leadership and destabilize our police department. That kind of disruption puts public safety at risk and could hand Donald Trump the opening he wants to intervene in our city.
LA needs a battle-tested leader who knows how to protect this city. Not empty slogans and reckless promises that put our future on the line.
Today, we lost an icon. Dolores Huerta was a fearless leader, a dear friend and an inspiration who taught me never to give up.
We honor her legacy by continuing the fight for farm workers, civil rights and dignity for all.
¡Sí, se puede! Rest in power, Dolores.
Berkeley IGS/L.A. Times poll | 10/19-10/25 LV
Los Angeles mayor 2026
🟦Karen Bass 40% (incumbent)
🟦Nithya Raman 40%
Previous poll in September: Raman +11
https://t.co/tLz1jLkGk9
Shocking! Nithya Raman is leaving out a pretty important detail.
Mayor Bass launched a massive initiative in March to repair and replace up to 60K streetlights across Los Angeles over two years.
The program uses solar technology to combat copper theft and address a repair backlog that existed long before Bass took office.
Yup. I’ve seen new private polling showing the same: a tight, tied race. Ramin has stalled as voters take 2nd look. Pratt now vote going 2-1 for Bass with big undecided still. Scary fire the police chief stuff has hurt. And now Caruso factor.

Nithya Raman blew a double-digit lead as voters learned about her poor judgment and inexperience. Since ballots went out, she’s made headlines for all the wrong reasons. Among the recent revelations:
🛑 Called the LAPD “fascist liars”
🛑 Flip-flopped on whether, and when, to fire the police chief — with no plan for a replacement
🛑 Lost the only televised mayoral debate
🛑 Called Daryl Gates the “gold standard”
🛑 Couldn’t name a single police chief: “I don’t know…I don’t know”
🛑 Endorsement of her biggest backer, the Democratic Socialists of America, is in jeopardy
🛑 Constituents called her out for not showing up
🛑 Went to a happy hour the day that ICE raids started last June
🛑 Can’t work with her colleagues in city council, casts doubts on her potential ability to govern
🛑 Opposed LA hosting the Olympics https://t.co/aQXp4X475D
October 13, Raman made her “gold standard” comment about Daryl Gates.
Now Nithya Raman’s 11-point lead over Mayor Karen Bass has completely evaporated!
September poll:
Raman 39% | Bass 28%
October poll:
Raman 40% | Bass 40%
The timing is hard to ignore, and it’s clear where this is headed.
I don’t know anyone in Pacific Palisades who supports @nithyavraman or thinks she’d be better for our recovery than re-electing @KarenBassLA (even those who are critical of @MayorOfLA). Literally no one wants this 👇.
Less than a week after pledging to start replacing the LAPD chief on day one, Nithya Raman has yet another new position — now saying she's not setting an "arbitrary timeline" on the move.
Working together with Councilwoman Traci Park, we’ve helped move hundreds of people off the streets and into housing. Thank you Traci, for your partnership and commitment to getting things done! As we look ahead to the 2028 Olympics, there’s more work to do together to get our city ready. Let’s keep the progress going, vote on or before November 3rd!
Union workers run LA! I'm fighting every day for higher wages and cheaper housing so Angelenos can afford to live here. This is a critical election for workers, mail in your ballot or drop it off at a voting location today!
Rick Caruso announces that he’ll be voting to re-elect LA Mayor Karen Bass, saying he feels it’s critical to put the past behind him.
He also goes after her opponent, Councilwoman Nithya Raman, calling her comments about firing LAPD Chief Jim McDonnell “reckless and dangerous” and saying “this is no time to turn the LAPD into a laboratory for risky DSA social experimentation.”
Rick and I have a long history of working together to solve big problems. Rick and his nonprofit, Steadfast LA, have been an invaluable partner in our work to rebuild the Palisades and get families back into their homes. I’m honored to receive his support and I look forward to working with him over the next four years to solve major problems in our city.
