Woo! I’ve gotten through all 13 lessons. I loved the online environment that the Twitter World provided us and how it allowed us to experience some of the phenomenons and concepts described in the lessons. Signing out! #EDUC307
It was amazing to see Vivek’s more educational psychology-based perspective and Jihan’s more humanity-based perspective approach the lessons throughout the entire semester. It definitely provided a well rounded learning environment. Well done! #Lesson13#EDUC307
Jihan mentioned she believed capturing intercultural experiences on video and uploading them to social network sites can legitimize social media as news coverage. I wonder how she thinks AI & deep fake technology would impact that belief today. #Lesson12#EDUC307
I think that Disney films have changed in a more gender/racial/ethnic inclusive way! Just look at the new The Little Mermaid film with Halle Bailey playing Ariel. A step in the right direction, although I was so disappointed seeing the negative backlash it got. #Lesson11#EDUC307
I started watching “Mickey Mouse Monopoly” & it dawned on me that I had watched this film a few years back when writing a paper on the misogyny in the film The Little Mermaid! Interesting to see how #Lesson10 & #Lesson11 collided through this source and past experience. #EDUC307
Super interesting to reflect on Dr.Rima Abunasser’s comment that just because a discourse does not have a label does not mean that it doesn’t exist. #Lesson10#EDUC307
Using social media as a cyberspace to highlight already existing movements is a such a powerful tool. It allows for more people to get involved and can also provide anonymity for those not comfortable fully presenting themselves taking part in a movement. #Lesson10#EDUC307
@BeatriceRacane3 I’ve definitely had some bad experiences, but I think the craziest phenomenon right now is people completely stealing the identities of other’s using social media. People are sharing so much that others can steal their content and pose as them. Super scary! #EDUC307
@thalyagouind I think it’s totally impractical to assume that students are reading every single word of a research report. Some assignments require us to include 5 or more sources! It’s just unrealistic. #EDUC307
Did anyone else's school have those laptop or iPad carts that would be shared from class to class? I remember my high school had them and everyone would get hyped when we saw the cart at the front of the class! #Lesson7#EDUC307
@Mcristina_Bad Haha! So true. It’s definitely a little spooky, but that’s why it’s so important that we are aware of what’s going on so we can make our own informed and engaged decisions. #EDUC307
I’m not totally sold that all components of research reports are “critical” to the understanding of a scholarly output… sometimes you can just read an abstract or summary without going into every component and understand the outcome just as well. #Lesson8#EDUC307 🤷🏼♀️
