I learned a lot today about late adulthood. There were a lot of stereotypes that were broken for me. For example, I assumed older people saw life more negatively since they were closer to death but I learned I was wrong after hearing about the positivity effect. #CofcDevSci
The oldest age every recorded is 122! On my mothers side of the family, there is an extremely high life expectancy when compared to my dads side of the family. My great-great grandfather lived until age 109. #CofcDevSci
It was interesting to learn that the life expectancy in the U.S has dropped because of substance abuse and despair. I already knew about the opioid crisis but I did not know if effected our overall life expectancy. #CofcDevSci
I know plenty of students that have changed their majors multiple times. It is interesting to learn that the average a student changes their major while in college is 7 TIMES. I never changed my major, although this is my fifth college. #CofcDevSci
Today in class I was surprised by the facts about college. 70% of high school graduates enroll in college but only 44% actually graduate from college by the age of 34. #CofcDevSci
Although I am considered to be in early adulthood, I would not classify myself or anyone under the age of 25 an adult. I agree that bearing children holds a higher standard. Class really made me reevaluate my adulthood! #CofcDevSci
I liked learning about adolescent risk taking in class today. It was interesting that when strong emotion is triggered, less ration decisions are made when compared to adults. This explains a lot of my adolescent years. #CofcDevSci
