Just out of curiosity but have any of you had something you post online go viral or had any sort of internet fame? I've always been curious about what that's like!
@AlisonRuthSpen1 Really? So did I! I kind of spammed the forum these past couple of days to get my count lol... oh well at least I don't need to be stressed about it now!
@AlisonRuthSpen1 Being from the West Island, definitely loved not having to leave my house 1h+ before my 8:45am classes! Also, I've saved a lot of money not constantly being downtown as there's less temptation to eat out and buy coffee when you're just sitting at home.
I'm not sure if it's confirmed or just a theory, but it's kind of scary that TikTok doesn't show the time while we are on the app, possibly in hopes that we'll stay glued to the app as long as possible!
I have found completing readings, and even paying attention in lectures this semester so difficult as my attention span has gotten so bad with staying home and being online at all times! Sometimes it takes me hours to do a reading because I can't sit through them anymore.
Do you think you'd have more friends or less friends if you didn't have social media? And do you think social media and technology has changed the way you consider your relationship to people on whether they are close to you or not?
I hope one day to make the switch but I don’t think Apple is all that necessary to have! It is quicker to learn to use but as we are all a tech-savvy generation, learning Windows would not be difficult and would save me a lot of money someday. (3/3)
When I went to high school I went into an enriched program that asked for us to have Macs, and iPhones are much more compatible when needing to sync and offload items to and from devices than trying to do so from a Windows to an Apple device. (2/2)
I'm not sure if anyone feels the same as I do but I wish I had been accustomed to Android and Windows products at a young age! I find they are much more affordable, durable and have many benefits such as you can add SD cards for extra storage. (1/2)
Those with Apple phones, do you get those weekly screen time updates? I used to get them before I got a new phone but they used to make me feel like I was wasting so much time!!!
@AnnaGyorgy3 I keep the same phone until I see a good offer on a used newer phone on sites like Kijiji! And even then, I don't usually go looking for these ads unless something is starting to go wrong with my phone.
Which journals did you all choose to do and for what reason? I chose the first, third and fourth for time management reasons. I kind of wish I did the fifth one though as I love Disney.
Do any of you do anything to have more privacy on your devices? Such as not saving passwords, allowing less access to audio, camera and location, or physically blocking your cameras? At this point I don't do any of those as I feel like my privacy being invaded is inevitable.
Have any of you had any moments that you've felt your privacy being invaded by technology in a scary way? Sometimes I've felt a little creeped out by how specific ads get, but nothing scary or threatening has happened.
@AnnaGyorgy3 For female stereotypes I think Cinderella is definitely one of the worst, I cringed so much while having to watch it for a project last semester. And for racial stereotypes, Peter Pan and Jungle Book have made me pretty uncomfortable as well.
