Well done to everyone in developing and delivering this game changing research @colospeedstudy@BottProf@AlexanderSeager @NIHRCRN_NENCumb
"Simply put, it will save lives." 🗣️ @BottProf
We've led a study backed by @UniofNewcastle and @SBRFoundation and shared by @TheLancet showing how AI can spot abnormalities which may lead to bowel cancer.

@ProfKarenBrown Thank you, Karen! For both your kind words and particularly for your invaluable support to the trial as part of our Trial Steering Committee.
We have developed the Colon Map for Training to offer a structured approach for colonoscopy intubation.
Created by training teams at Torbay and Cheltenham and Gloucester as part of the South West Endoscopy Training Academy, and based on JAG courses over last 20 years!
@humerus_af I've twice set up a DD to stop overpaying my UG loan (what a ridiculous concept) and they're still taking it from my salary and not by DD. They've also started deducting my PG loan when I don't graduate for >1y from now 🤦🏻♂️
Making it standard practice to open a left handed instrument set whenever you have a left handed surgeon operating would be nice for inclusivity at a low level (not to compare this to EDI in other contexts).
Richard Osman, I believe, has commented on the psychological impact of everyone mentioning how tall he is all the time. Every time another surgeon finds out I'm left handed it's like I have to explain/excuse myself. Some even openly call me defective (or similar).
I've occasionally wondered whether having (a) "left-handed tray(s)" of common surgical instruments that can be easily accessed and reprocessed would be an easy win? They could even be a different colour for easy identification when you have a lefty operating with a righty.
Amazingly proud of our @colospeedstudy team, led by @BottProf being recognised for their #endoscopy and #CancerResearch
Thanks to the 1000s of patients, without whom non of our work would even be possible
Just watched @lorraine from this morning. 10mins in. @BottProf talking about #nobutts bowel cancer awareness and #COLODETECT our trial of AI to improve colonoscopy. Remember: 1. Do your 💩 test, 2. ➡️GP if you have bowel symptoms, 3. Lifestyle change to reduce your risk
Watch @lorraine from 9am tomorrow, when patient Jean Tyler and @BottProf will talk about our COLO-DETECT AI study.
It's part of the show's #NoButts bowel cancer awareness campaign.
Here they are with Jean's husband Derek & team.
