Curious how others here think about this.
From your experience:
• Have you seen tools that truly reduce this fragmentation?
• What actually helped you stay focused from idea → final output?
• Do you think academic work needs better tools — or better systems?
Ideas live in one place.Drafts in another. Feedback, citations, and presentations somewhere else.
A lot of context gets lost in between.
This made me wonder whether the real problem isn’t “lack of AI”, but the lack of a connected workflow.
Why does academic work still feel fragmented, even with so many AI tools?
Over the past year, I’ve noticed something interesting.
AI tools for academic work are getting better at individual tasks. But many researchers still say the same thing:the work itself feels fragmented.
