Given his reactions in this episode, it's clear that Lu Guang is about to reach his breaking point soon. All his usual defenses are wearing thin. Qiao Ling's questions weren't something totally out of the blue. Lu Guang must've known that LTX's ability got transferred to QL upon her death so there was always a chance that QL would learn about his secret, even if we ignore the fact that she obtained his memories/emotions that LTX had picked up on. He should've seen this coming sooner or later.

He tried to act composed and brushed off QL's questions but as soon as she mentioned those strange visions she'd had - just the mere mention of the tragedy that befell him in the original playthrough - he couldn't control his tears. This is HUGE for someone like him who managed to keep a poker face through it all for the past three years. His taciturn shell is finally beginning to show cracks.

Even Cheng Xiaoshi wasn't that aggressive with his questions. He accused LG of hiding something but it was in relation to their powers, not something that would directly blow LG's cover. LG could've come up with any excuse instead of the truth behind how he knew that staying beyond 12 hours meant you would be stuck in the photo forever. Maybe someone else told him, maybe he just had a strong hunch about the limitation of the power. Admittedly, these aren't good excuses either but they're better than panicking, which is what gave him away. He could've told CXS from the outset that 12 hours is the hard limit for his power and provided a plausible reason for it.

It just lets me know that LG isn't as methodical and detached as he sometimes pretends to be. He's behaving like the opposite of his usual calm and rational self because he's a mere human after all. He's so young, he's highly stressed because of so many changes in the timeline, and he thinks he'll lose his only family once again. He has all these chinks in his armour precisely because he cares so much.

CXS just tried to probe a little deeper for the first time but LG didn't provide him any explanation. He doesn't have bulletproof lies ready to go because he isn't someone so seasoned and numb to it after all. At the first hint of conflict and CXS raising his voice, he immediately thought back to when he yelled at him in the original playthrough, even though that instance didn't really seem particularly directed at him.

Just some light questioning from his Gege and Jiejie and he couldn't help but break into tears... in S3, we're finally seeing all of LG's pent-up emotions finding release. It makes perfect sense as to why he's so emotionally fragile at the moment. The floodgates have been opened. He doesn't want to keep lying to CXS and QL forever but he can't bear to lose them either. He's carrying this grave burden all on his own and the pressure is clearly taking a toll on him, both physically and emotionally.

It's good that CXS and QL have already picked up on it now. They're coming from a place of concern and know that being so secretive and hiding what's bothering you can never be good. CXS was particularly angry because he doesn't like it when people (read: his parents) don't trust him with important stuff.

But even so, he melted the second he saw LG cry. QL went to the front door to greet the guest but he just stood there rooted to the spot, staring at LG's quivering shoulders. What was he thinking at that moment? Watching someone he considers so precious cry like a baby must've pulled at his heartstrings and he's going to be completely shattered when he realizes the entire truth. Until then, he has to be the one to try and get through to this stubborn self-sacrificial cat 😭

مشهد دخول لو غوانغ وجلوسه بين تشنغ شياوشي وتشياو لينغ من المشاهد المحببة إليّ، خاصة بعد معرفتنا بالسنوات الاثنتي عشرة التي عاشها وهو يسمع باستمرار أنه غير مرغوب فيه، وأنه مجرد حثالة ونذير شؤم!

لذلك أحب هذا المشهد، لأنه يُظهر الفرق بين ما عاشه في الماضي وما يعيشه الآن، فهو يستطيع الجلوس معهما بكل أريحية، دون أن يشعر بأنه منبوذ أو أن وجوده غير مرغوب فيه. 💔
