All the reports and analyses about Ukraine’s current Defence Minister, Mykhailo Fedorov, have been quite positive. We can clearly see how Ukraine’s growing technological advantage over the past 4–5 months. It would be a shame if he were removed during this ministerial reshuffle.
Life in Kherson is not even life anymore. All day, non stop attacks; drones are everywhere. Blood in the streets.
Another public bus struck by a drone in front of me; more cars.
Power is down and mobile internet is not strong enough to share a report.
Save Kherson!
🇺🇦 The Economist: Fedorov has launched a number of reforms in the military in his months in office, but they have met with resistance from some of the military leadership. Tensions between Fedorov and the generals surfaced during a meeting in early July.
The generals criticized Fedorov for supplying the army, and he responded that without his emergency purchases of drones at the beginning of the year, Ukraine’s current operations would have been impossible, particularly in Crimea.
The publication reports that Fedorov also has “deep disagreements” with the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Syrskyi.
Two different coordinate systems. There is no common language, even if direct conflict is avoided.
This whole beautiful family was erased from existence by russia. Yevhenia, Yaryna, Daria, and Emilia were killed by a russian rocket in September 2024. We will never forget.
Ukraine cannot afford a new political crisis right now. Firing @FedorovMykhailo would trigger just that, both within Ukrainian society and with many international partners. I hope that differences can be resolved through more modest means.
The prospect of Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov being replaced after just six months in office has prompted a largely critical reaction from lawmakers, public figures, and Kyiv residents, while opposition lawmakers and political analysts have suggested that tensions with parliament and President Volodymyr Zelensky may be driving his possible removal.

The EU is stalling on the 21st sanctions package against Russia—because of a dispute over Russian fish.
Russian fish versus Ukrainian lives?
While Russia continues to fire missiles at cities, is Putin to keep making money because economic interests matter more than consistent sanctions?
This is morally indefensible. Every day of hesitation strengthens the aggressor and weakens Europe's credibility.
🤮🤮🤮
Kherson. Not just drones: yesterday, Russians dropped an aerial bomb on the building of a school where civilians received water, humanitarian aid.
I have been to this building many times, filming the elderly getting bread.
The sadistic music is courtesy of Russians.
⚡️9 countries want to cut EU funding for IOC, other sports bodies readmitting Russia.
The call was backed by Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Poland, Romania, and Sweden.

Last night, the Russians launched 135 drones and 10 missiles of various types, most of them ballistic, against our cities and communities. Seven people were injured in the Kharkiv region, including a child. Ordinary residential buildings, a gas station, and railway infrastructure were damaged. Three people were injured in the Chernihiv region. The Russians damaged a residential building and power grid facilities, leaving thousands of families without electricity. Repair crews are now working to restore power to people as quickly as possible. An apartment building was also damaged in Zaporizhzhia.
The Russians struck Kyiv with ballistic missiles. Sixteen sites were damaged in the capital, including an ordinary school and a business. Critical infrastructure in the Dnipro, Donetsk, Zhytomyr, and Odesa regions was also targeted.
There must be greater pressure on Russia. We cannot mark time, and the EU’s 21st sanctions package should be adopted this week. Every day of delay in sanctions decisions gives Russia more time to prepare for them. Every component – chips, microchips, dual-use goods – everything Russia uses to prolong the war and attack people must be stopped. And our agreements with partners on European anti-ballistic capabilities are something that can truly enhance the security of our people. We must move forward together. Every company and every country must be a true defender of life. Our combined capabilities are sufficient, and together we can build reliable protection for Ukraine and all of Europe. Thank you to everyone who is helping.
Fier de voir les militaires ukrainiens défiler aux côtés de nos forces. Un symbole de fraternité, de courage et de destin partagé. Pensées au peuple ukrainien qui lutte pour sa liberté et, avec elle, pour celle de tous les Européens.
The Senate ought to put Lindsey’s Russia sanctions bill on the floor, rename it the Lindsey Graham Russia Accountability Act, and pass it into law.
That would be a fitting legacy for a man who ferociously loved this country.
Ukrainian forces have sunk a Russian warship called Izumrud which is highly symbolic as it is the same ship that was involved in firing upon and capturing three Ukrainian warships in the Kerch Strait international incident in 2018.
