Most leaders implementing AI today are mainly focused on efficiency and productivity gains, but not on augmenting human skills or findings ways to humanize AI.

I predict that in the next 5 - 6 years, if companies don’t make AI in the workplace more human-centric, that employees will be less willing to work for these organizations and customers less willing to buy from them as well. I had the pleasure today to present my thought leadership on the importance of humanizing AI as a way to bring humans and machines closer together in a responsible and sustainable manner.

During my keynote at the Conversational AI & Customer Experience Summit in Munich, I spoke about the need to address issues we currently face with AI (specifically generative AI and large language models like #ChatGPT). As everyone today is looking to use AI as a tool to increase #productivity or improve customer interactions, the human component in AI implementation is left out of the equation which is bad for business and for society.

I also explained why (sometimes unintentionally) we design and use AI in ways that don’t benefit human values or potential. Thinking today how to be more proactive about humanizing AI at work and in commercial settings will not only motivate customers to continue to buy from you and employees to continue to work for you, but will benefit society as a whole. I provided some humanizing AI user cases to help plant the seed to become more human-centered with AI implementation.

Humanizing AI is not just a moral imperative, it’s a business priority!
