I am HUGELY excited to announce that I now have a website for my translation work! -> https://t.co/4Om9OKyt65

Light novels get adapted into manga, but I was wondering if it happens the other way around?
I'd guess not, or not often, since you'd need a LOT of manga volumes for one LN volume.
But I was just fantasizing how beautiful the prose in an LN version of Your Meteor would be...
What advice do people have for people starting out in loc?
Mine's always to remember a lot of anxieties around how you come off to clients is because you're YOU, living YOUR life - to clients, you're one of many freelancers, and they'll be more forgiving to you than you think :)
Wondering who people's strangest friendships are in TomoLife?
On my island, Utapri Natsuki gets on great from Gob from Arrested Development.
Lavi from Your Meteor bonded with the singing zombie from RE9 over drinking blood (though I guess that actually makes sense)
Although I only translated volume 3 of When a Clueless First-Person Shooter Player Falls into Another World, so it'll be a bit of a wait, I'm looking forward to the audiobook!
Also, I was admiring the English logo the other day. I think it's really cool!
Brand-new license announcement! WHEN A CLUELESS FIRST-PERSON SHOOTER PLAYER FALLS INTO ANOTHER WORLD (AUDIOBOOK) by Jiraigen and UGUME, narrated by Mark Sanderlin. An FPS gamer falls into a fantasy world—manga also from Seven Seas! #SevenSeasSiren

This is kind of me on music 🙈
I download lots of music because I like it, but if you asked me about my favourite band member or album or anything contextual I won't be able to answer haha
I just liked the song!
a customer brought a bocchi blind box and told me “I LOVE BOCCHI! Do you like bocchi?”
i told her i did, but the box set didn’t have my fav character, she asked who it was, I said kikuri
“who’s that?”
“The drunk one with a bass”
“oh is she the yellow one with the ponytail?”
😐
One I had recently was "body bag" or ボディーバッグ. Translating that one straight up would have caused a lot of confusion in what was otherwise a very peaceful slice of life scene 😬
(It's a bag worn over the body, often a small rucksack)
Saw a comment from someone saying that if they can hear an EN word in the JP voices, it must be a mistranslation if that word isn’t in the EN translation/voice over. Sometimes maybe, but not always, as not all EN loan words have the same meaning in JP and EN. (1/2)
