James Gunn’s DCU is the perfect example of why I preferred Zack Snyder’s approach to DC.

Snyder treated these characters with a serious, mature tone. Gunn constantly throws in bizarre jokes, absurd characters and goofy scenes, even in moments that should carry real weight.

I don’t need every DC movie to be dark, but I also don’t need Superman to feel like a parody of himself.

Gunn’s weirdness works for some people. For me, it often takes me out of the story.
