Look, we simply shouldn’t have to look centuries into the past for Mozarts and Leonardos. Simple statistics indicate we should see more geniuses.

1) our education and popular culture are structured to thwart these people.

2) our food and medicines and environmental toxins might be thwarting their development.

3) covert operations have been ongoing to identify these people and either bribe/blackmail them or destroy them emotionally, professionally, institutionally, or even violently.

My worst fear is that wokeness is inevitable in any human population.

Most people in an information society will realize that they are just shitty compared to the most famous and most adored people. Celebrities and billionaires and so on.

Then, instead of striving to be as good as they can be, they will adopt a morality of "bad is better than good" so that they can just feel superior without doing any of the work, which they don't want to do because they know the odds are that they're not going to be a billionaire or a celebrity anyway.

Then, because shitty people will always outnumber good ones, they gang up on us, take away all the resources, and hand them out to the shittiest possible people.

And then everyone becomes fat and gay and black.

My worst fear is that this is the great filter and that there is no way to stop it from happening other than basically using flock cameras and phone surveillance and drones to keep people in line.

Regarding the eternal meaninglessness of life, Albert Camus said, "One must imagine Sisyphus happy."

Sisyphus was punished by the Gods, forced to push a boulder up a hill and let it roll back down forever.

Camus meant that you must enjoy your struggle, because life is endless toil with no end goal. When you are done struggling, your reward is more struggle.

Got the degree? Got the job? Got the house? Got the family?

...Then what?

Then your kids have to grow up and do it all again. Boulder up. Boulder down.

Camus was not able to imagine the conditions we live in today. To even have a hill to ascend is a rare stroke of luck.
