September 2023 here in #chelmsford #essex - a very warm month compared to average, rainfall below normal. Avg max was 23.5c here with avg temp of 18.4c. Rainfall of 30.24mm.

Incredible temps at #writtle #chelmsford this morning - 33.9c at 10am with another potential 6 hours of heating. The UK June record could be beaten again today, this depends on levels of cloud cover this afternoon. @Petagna @EssexWeather @wanstead_meteo

@TheSnowDreamer Wednesday was very hot in Essex - it reached 34c in Writtle near Chelmsford and hit 30c so yes slightly cooler today but not unscathed.

Today has been the hottest day in May on record with Kew Gardens provisionally reaching 34.8°C - exceeding the previous highest May temperature in the UK by a full 2 degrees Celsius🌡️

This heat would be exceptional in the UK even in mid summer, let alone in May📈

So today will see the highest May temperature ever in the UK which has stood since 1944 and it won’t just slightly be broken - it’ll be well broken. Expecting 34c today and perhaps 35c tomorrow. #heatwave

Some hot weather potentially record breaking May heat on the way. Some of the models this morning picking up on some crazy temps for late May. Potentially 35c if the models have this right for Monday in SE.

@AvonandsomerRob That’s not true - SE England is often warm, dry and sunny in July and August. Even when the country is more unsettled - at worst we still have reasonable temps of at least 70f+. I’ve never put the heating on during summer 🙄

@pacrabtree Totally agree and what makes me more angry is we constantly told how great an ally the US is, well it’s not and it’s time to get closer to Europe who are our ally.

Totally disgusting that Trump wants to take Greenland and also to put additional tariffs on European countries because he isn’t getting what he wants. He is basically a bully and it’s about time we stood upto the US.
