My role is to strengthen cooperation across the Mediterranean region, based on a simple principle: stability, security and prosperity are best achieved through partnerships. And partnerships require open and honest dialogue.

I just met @gidonsaar. We discussed ongoing challenges and how we can address them together. I underlined that the EU fully supports Israel's right to security.

At the same time, the situation on the ground in Gaza remains deeply concerning. Humanitarian aid must reach all those in need at a greater scale, and the conditions and access for early recovery must be in place.

The EU stands ready to do its part alongside with regional and international partners.

Equally, a financially sustainable and reformed Palestinian Authority is important for regional stability and security, in line with UN Security Council Resolution 2803.

I have also raised concerns about the deteriorating situation regarding the illegal settlements.

The only sustainable path forward remains a negotiated solution, with Israelis and Palestinians living side by side in peace and security.
