Historic moment for global autonomous driving regulation this week! The @UNECE has approved the first global AV regulatory framework. This is a major milestone creating a clear and globally consistent path for deploying autonomy around the world.
Regulations were agreed covering world-wide deployment of L2 hands-off, L3 eyes-off and L4 driverless products:
โก๏ธ A UN regulation for type approval, applied in markets such as Europe, Japan and the UK
โก๏ธ A Global Technical Regulation (GTR), which can be applied by self-certification markets, such as the USA and Canada
This outcome-focused, technology-agnostic regulation is essential to unlocking AI-powered autonomy safely and at scale. ๐
At @wayve_ai, we've been working hard on this for many years. This amazing result follows many years of debate, compromise, and collaboration across GRVA, WP.29, and many working groups. I am particularly proud of the impact Wayve has had through our policy experts who have spent many valuable hours negotiating the right safety standard for AVs. This effort has been spearheaded by @gates_sj and Wayve's L4 regulatory expert Morgan Jones who provided support as the Industry Co-Pilot for the L3/4 Regulation.

Great to host Stellantis CTO Ned Curic in London last week as we announced our growing partnership across all levels of autonomy, all around the world.
News: @Stellantis + @Uber + @wayve_ai are developing global robotaxis
This builds on our existing partnerships with these companies and is further evidence of our industryโs growing belief in end-to-end deep learning for autonomous driving ๐

Was a treat to drive Chancellor @RachelReevesMP to London Tech Week to give her opening speech, with @LucyRigby and @gates_sj - on the day we invited signups for our @Uber robotaxi service ๐
Exciting news to kick off London Tech week: Londoners can now sign up to experience @wayve_ai autonomous rides on @Uber which are launching soon (pending final regulatory approval). ๐ฌ๐ง

This will be the first opportunity for the public to experience riding the Wayve. We have a decade of experience teaching our AI to drive and I can't wait for folks to experience how smooth and confident the experience is, from booking on Uber to seeing the Wayve AI Driver do what it does best: respond to tricky scenarios on the fly, navigate varying weather conditions, and seamlessly executing pickups and dropoffs, from our Kingโs Cross HQ to Heathrow.
What's different from other robotaxi services in USA/China?
1. intelligence - you'll quickly see this with complex interactions or safe navigation around pedestrians and cyclists. My favourite is seeing human like pick-up/drop-offs where our robotaxi finds safe, legal and socially responsible positions all with onboard reasoning
2. no geofence - we don't use HD-maps, so the robotaxi can drive wherever you want to go, urban, highway, wherever
3. it's London - one of the most complex driving environments!

Earlier today @alexgkendall and I took Pierre Lamond, one of godfathers of modern computing, for autonomous ride in a @wayve_ai car.
Over the course of the ride he shared wisdom on how to keep a high growth org focused, key marketing strategies, and of course pushed us on why we arenโt moving fast enough! There may have been a Fairchild story or two as well. What a legend!
95 years old and still pushing us all to raise our standards higher. Blessed to have him as a mentor.
ICYMI: Last month, we announced our strategic technology partnership with @Stellantis to bring the Wayve AI Driver to the STLA AutoDrive platform.
The partnership marks an exciting next step in our collaboration, combining Wayveโs end-to-end AI driving intelligence with Stellantisโ engineering expertise, manufacturing scale and global reach - starting with hands-free, door-to-door supervised driving across urban and highway environments. Launching in North America in 2028. ๐
It was a brilliant day in Detroit seeing the momentum and hard work behind the partnership come to life.

Just arrived Denver. ๐๏ธ
Watch out for many exciting talks from the @wayve_ai team at @CVPR#CVPR2026 over the next few days, including our paper, LA-Pose, straight from our internship program (https://t.co/iqfDorm0Mb).
We are hiring! https://t.co/WnZ1ccKs8K
