This is west LA, the place I was born.

That haze you see isn’t fog. It’s the exhaust from the millions of vehicles Angelenos depend on to get around.

For all of the decades i’ve spent here, it has been a constant. We live it, we breathe it, we add to it every time we leave our house.

During the pandemic, when traffic stopped briefly, we saw what the world could look like. Clean air, clean views, clear skies. It’s my hope that we can one day get back there again and heal Los Angeles.

Ubiquitous autonomous electric vehicles are our best shot at doing that. And yet the oil industry, and the unions, the auto dealers, and the politicians have managed to convince most people that EVs are bad and evil and the oil and gas companies are good.

I want to see the Tesla and EV communities come together to finish the job. With autonomous electric vehicles a much brighter future is in reach. It’s a chance for my future children to not grow up in a haze of exhaust like I did. A real shot, after a long period of impossibility.

There are many people fighting to stop or slow down this future, but if we work together we will outnumber them.

My fellow Americans: Please direct your attention to this matter for just a moment. Allow this to sink in. The President of the United States of America just said he wants to ban the free press. He said he doesn’t want them in his office, which by the way is the Oval Office in the People’s House. This is unheard of, and we the people cannot let this be!

For the record, we have a free press in this country. For the record we should all be worried not just about this latest outburst, but by all of it going forward without permission — putting our service members in harms way, raising tariffs willy nilly, threatening buildings and institutions unless his name gets put on them. This is not the behavior of a centered leader who is focused on the good of the people. This is not the behavior of a compassionate leader focused on the millions of Americans who cannot afford healthcare, childcare, gas, or food.
