I agree, education is always changing and staying up with technology is going to help you become a better teacher and be able to "speak the same language" if you will, as your very technologically inclined students.

@JessicaDiOrio1 @DrSigears Jessica, I agree! I think that this is one of the major things that principals are looking for these days. How are teachers going to use technology and adapt with the times! (Because these are the things that students are going to be receptive to).

@DrSigears A3: One situation that might arise in the classroom that you need to research about is an unruly student. If you are constantly having an issue with a particular student, you can research different methods to try to get them back in track behaviorally. #ap5540

@DrSigears A2: I think that when hiring teacher, principals take their willingness to adapt to technological advances into consideration to make sure that they are keeping up with the times and using things that the students will appreciate. #ap5540

@CarrieMarshall1 A1: As a student teacher, I struggled because I realized that the curriculum at the elem school that I was teaching at was extremely rigid, planned out, and and driven by the district. I did not expect curr to be written out word for word. #kinderchat

@MsSarahCoppock @DrSigears Sarah, this surprised me too. I always though that regions generally had the same salaries when it came to teacher pay!

@DrSigears I will always be in the field of education because even my undergraduate degree is in History and there isn't much you can do with History other than TEACH people about it. I think that I have found my calling and will want to be involved with it forever.

@DrSigears I am loving the MAT program that I am in currently but I don't know if I will continue on to get my Doctorate. It seems like a lot of work at this point in my life.

@DrSigears I never knew that there were such drastic salary variations in the same region. Being a military spouse, when looking for teaching jobs during a PCS, i always check the general salary of a reason and now I know that this isn't always accurate. #ap5540

@DrSigears Self care is a huge portion of managing stress. Personally, I think that doing whatever it is that makes you a little bit more happy is enough to refresh you and help you cope with the stresses of life. For me, it is watching a few episodes on Netflix.

@DrSigears I think new teachers quit because they are not prepared enough when it comes to classroom management. As an undergrad, I had a prof tell me that every reason new teacher quit can all be contributed to poor classroom management. #ap5540

@MsSarahCoppock @DrSigears I love this idea because it allows the kids to feel important and if they do not get that at home, it is vital that they get it at school. It's easy to get wrapped up in the hustle and bustle but teachers should always make time to do little things like this.

Stephanie, I think that having a good sense of humor is def a great way to encourage engagement and it also allows the teachers to have a great personal relationship with the class as a whole! This is a key element in a successful classroom
