There are 1,300 AI-equipped cameras installed at San Diego State University — including 330 in dorms — but the university’s police department disputes concerns from students that the set up is an invasion of privacy.

Are student fears legitimate? Or is this just life now?

Police told The Fix it "would be highly irresponsible, from a safety, security and best practice standpoint, not to have security cameras in place throughout our campus community.”

They added AI tracking and facial recognition features are not *currently* in use.

A UC Berkeley student was temporarily refused his diploma for carrying a Palestinian flag on stage.

Some have argued the policy is too strict, that students should be allowed to express themselves during such a huge moment in their life. But others argue the ceremony is for all to enjoy, and if it becomes about political messaging, it disrupts and detracts from the celebration for all.

NEW from me: The White House had grievances with Kristi Noem. But she also had grievances with them.

One official tells me that Noem has felt thrown under the bus and frustrated with the lack of support she has received inside of the administration since Minneapolis.

The source said at the end of last year, Noem told Trump and his White House that she was not getting the support she needed. Trump agreed and helped Noem, and there was some improvement made up until Minneapolis.

And the source added that the White House wasn’t just aware of Noem’s ads campaign… senior WH officials helped work on it.
