A reminder that Elsevier made $10.5 BILLION in 2022 from selling your academic journals and articles behind paywalls, and make more profit than Amazon, Google, and Apple every year…
And paid the academics who wrote the articles $0
And paid the reviewers of the articles $0
Planned cuts @FieldMuseum may disproportionately impact staff of color and those already paid the least. Staff put together a petition to try and prevent this.

Academic institutions and professional organisations need policies and procedures in place to support survivors at conferences, and to limit perpetrators’ ability to participate.
Otherwise, they have failed their members.
While @mbalter should be endorsed for acting to the full capacity of an ally, the issue more in focus here should not be his removal from the meeting but rather the lack of action from @SAAorg regarding Yesner. Sexual harassment is shit.
@pre_historic@SAAorg@uaanchorage I think the best thing that can happen is for the #MeToo in Archaeology session tomorrow (Galisteo Room 110, 1-3 PM) to be standing room only. If I am still banned I plan to show up and stand outside the entrance and thank people for supporting victims.
Please sign this open letter calling for action from @SAAorg in light of the horrific events that have taken place at this years conference. #saa2019#metoostem#metoo#timesup
