To be clear — I was not told to mimic AI for TDWP2 and I didn’t try to. I was just hired to create a cheap meme and the context of the movie has everyone, understandably, thinking I was emulating AI. https://t.co/WJdLpt0XWc
@PositivelyWolf1 I understand! I painted it lol.
I was just curious because you said it was “explicitly stated” to be AI, and I was trying to verify if that is what the movie said. But apparently it *wasn’t* explicitly stated.
@Painthisice Thank you. Before accusing someone, try and do some investigating first. Don’t just accuse them based off of one post. Those accusations can be super harmful.
I get accused of not being a “real artist” because I do digital as well, but it’s what I enjoy and I think that’s ok!
This is how I pay my bills. It is a little personal when incessant, insatiable witch hunts like this get heaped onto people like myself.
I understand wanting to protect artists/the craft, but at some point you can become the one who’s hurting them.

I posted this on Instagram yesterday and got flooded with comments of relief that this gag in The Devil Wears Prada 2 was created by an actual human (me), so I figured I’d also post it here because I think these companies should get their flowers when they hire an artist.

This experience has shown me, more than anything, that the oversaturation of AI and the power of suggestion make a very fascinating cocktail.
I understand why these conclusions are being drawn , but the misunderstandings are stacking up, so I’d just like this to be out there.
@Painthisice@ribslyrics But you were mistaken. I am not upset with you, I understand the skepticism, but when skepticism threatens the livelihood of an authentic artist, we should be just as loud about correcting the false narrative. That is how we protect our own.
After this, I'm done lol.
I'm a "she" and I am not posting every day. I consistently leave the internet for months and months on end and then come back and post the stuff I made in my free time (which is maybe 4 or 5 paintings). (1/3)
@Li0ness55@mattxiv I don’t blame you for the suspicion. You really can’t trust much these days. It just amazes me to watch innocent decisions on my end be ripped to pieces in ways I never even fathomed.
@Li0ness55@mattxiv Would you like to see the CapCut project? Lol
I did all of the work on this piece. I just skipped parts so the video wouldn’t be long and I added a cross fade. I didn’t know trying to save a scroller some time was going to be suspicious. 😅
@dopaminesales Honestly, I wasn’t even told it was going to be used in an AI context. Like I said in the original post, I was hired to create an internet meme, so I made it look plastic and cheap.
The power of suggestion via the movie has everyone believing I attempted to mimic AI.
@Li0ness55@mattxiv I answered your ‘AI gibberish’ question on IG and I’ve provided a zoomed in photo of that detail. As far as the time-lapse goes—I edited it that way and skipped a bunch of parts throughout it so it wouldn’t be 20 minutes long.
@Painthisice@urbnistSherlock I’ve replied via a quote tweet, because I think my response is important for a lot of skeptics right now.
Also, the time-lapse I sent you of my hands was posted over 4 years ago, as you can see. AI was not capable of creating a video like that at the time.
