Week 8: This class has been super interesting & helpful. I can't believe it's the end! I learned a lot & will take all the strategies I've learned to help me better help/ equip students who may have special needs in my future classroom. #WeAreGraceland#PsychOfExcep@MontelEvans
Week 7: It's important to look at the students learning & their learning-related behaviors for calculating grades, because grades are earned & effort should be rewarded. #WeAreGraceland#PsychOfExcep@MontelEvans
We may not get all of the answers we want to our “why” questions. But we can ask God to help us catch glimpses of His faithfulness in the midst of our pain and confusion.
We can hear His whispers of, "No matter what, I've got this. I've got you. And I'll hold on to you forever."
It's important for parents to follow the same proper strategies for teaching skills & content that is needed for kids w/ special needs when tutoring them at home, for it to be successful. #PsychOfExcep#WeAreGraceland@MontelEvans
Week 5: Creating a safe environment in the classroom & having realistic learning expectations for students that live with at risk conditions helps make school an important place in their lives. #PsychOfExcep#WeAreGraceland@MontelEvans
Week 4: Been reading about all the different disabilities that can be seen in a classroom & how to accommodate the learning materials to meet their needs. It is very eye opening & gives great resources to help if needed. #WeAreGraceland#PsychOfExcep@MontelEvans
Week 3: Learning about the INCLUDE strategy & how it involves all the ways you can help adjust the instruction for students w/ special needs in a general education classroom. It's fun learning new things!

Oftentimes, being human means being in a place of hurting but still hoping.
Hoping doesn’t mean we ignore reality. No, hoping means we acknowledge reality in the very same breath that we acknowledge God’s sovereignty.
Accommodations in special education is changing HOW students learn. Modifications is changing WHAT students learn. This class has been super interesting so far!

One way to put the puzzle pieces together of Inclusive practices is to learn how to teach in a way that responds to a wide range of students needs and collaborate with colleagues and parents to expand your expertise.

Who do you need to share your story and your tears with?
There’s someone else in the world who would drown in their own tears if not for seeing yours. And when you make one other human simply see they aren’t alone, you make the world a better place.
